The U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs announces that Â鶹¹ú²úAV is one of the top U.S. colleges and universities that produced the most 2020-2021 Fulbright U.S. Students. The Fulbright Program was created to increase mutual understanding between the people of the United States and the people of other countries. It is the world’s largest and most diverse international educational exchange program. Four Â鶹¹ú²úAV students received Fulbright awards for the academic year 2020-2021.
The program offers research, study, and teaching opportunities in more than 140 countries to recent graduates and graduate students. Every year the program awards approximately 8,000 grants, with roughly 1,900 of those going to U.S. students.
“Having the opportunity to advise and support Â鶹¹ú²úAV students throughout the Fulbright application process has been among the highlights of my role at Â鶹¹ú²úAV,” said Career & Fellowships Advisor Shania Siron who administers Â鶹¹ú²úAV’s Fulbright application process through the Center for Life Beyond Â鶹¹ú²úAV (CLBR). “I continue to be impressed with the commitment and intentionality students put into developing such well-rounded applications. We at the CLBR are so proud of all our applicants and awardees and are so excited to see what they continue to achieve and the future-impact they have on the world having gone through the process of either applying to and/or receiving the Fulbright.” To learn more about how to apply for a fellowship visit Â鶹¹ú²úAV’s Fulbright U.S. Student Program website.
“We are delighted to see that the colleges and universities we are honoring as 2020-2021 Fulbright Top Producing Institutions,” said Mary Kirk, Director of the Office of Academic Exchange Programs in the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. “In supporting their faculty advisors and administrators who guide their students through the Fulbright application process, these institutions benefit from having their students represent their campus overseas, often inspiring reciprocal exchanges from foreign Fulbrighters. The recipients expand their networks by joining the diverse and accomplished group of Fulbright alumni and receiving the professional recognition that comes with being named a Fulbright Student.”
